I called the bank to find out the status of the payment and found that they did receive the check on the 20th. It will now be sent to another department to be cashed and pay off the loans. This will take about 5 business days. Then that department will hold the remainder for 15 days and then put it in the mail. I should receive the check about Thanksgiving! I really think that a month for the insurance company was not bad as the bank ties it up even longer. I think that I need to find someone that cares that this process is broken! Fire on the 4th of September and almost 3 months to get the money from the greedy banks! I think I will need to stress to the bank how displeased I am, although I know that they will not care. I also think I will not maintain more than a checking account there anymore, but thidps will depend on the final outcome.
