The pop up showed up and caused some small problems with the install. The email also never went out so users were confused. I can only make suggestion and if they do not listen to me, I can not force them! (Anymore) I sure do miss yelling to get my point across. People may have found it ill mannered, but they sure cannot say that they do not remember me saying something!
Oh well. I would love to record the meetings so I could play it back so they could hear that I said it.
What is even worse is when you are in a meeting and a statement is made referencing something that you just explained. What the hell is that all about? Or how about you make a statement and someone else says the same thing just finished saying, but for some reason now everyone hears it or understands it? Ok if I was not able to get people to understand me it would be one thing but I can talk older non computer users through some of the toughest tasks. I can also dumb thing down for others the a child of age 4 or 5 would understand. SO WTF?
During the deployment I did hand hold the management of the other division as to keep them happy and keep the heat off my management while keeping the deployment in a good light. ( I heard about this also. “This is IT’s part and we can not look bad!” Shit! this entire app was put out by IT! This little piece was important but it sure the hell was not the main thing!)
I know let it go they live in their own world!
The entire deployment was not that bad. I do not recommend this method for this type of thing again! There was massive slowness and the information about the install uninstall process from the vendor was not accurate. This caused some solid uninstalls, but failure to reinstall the new package. Not sure if it was the cause of the pop up or another issue.
Nevertheless we were given a green light on the Kace deploy and then within an hour the light was turned to yellow. not surprising; sure wish management would understand more. It is like they forgot everything in a few years. It makes me wonder if they ever really knew anything.
The old deploy package has been removed and a new package put in place to start testing.
Yes. Yes. Enough of that.
Well I think I will go find something NON computer related to do and then go to bed.
