Whata day!

I woke up and took my shower to find that the dog had relieved herself in the house. X( I did not scold her, I just put her outside and cleaned up the messes then let her in. I did keep her in her room (aka utility room doubles as her room 😉 )when I left the house. Work was a normal day. I did cancel the trip to Dickinson, TX that was scheduled for tomorrow, as they are not ready for me to go. I got home and Freckles had not made any more messes. I saw that she is ill since her stool was like liquid or I may have had a problem :-& . I do need to be thankful the mess this morning was firm #:-S . I did string the lines on the clothes line poles tonight. Unfortunately one of them is tipping in, 8-} I must not have it deep enough although it did take 80# of Quickcreet. I am a little puzzled? The pond still looks OK. I took some algae from one of the bogs and put it in the pond; the fish attacked it like piranhas on a human arm in the amazon. OK, maybe not, but they did eat it up quickly. We will see if it does them any harm tomorrow. It is the same stuff in the pond so I figured it shouldn’t hurt them. Well that outta wrap things up for the evening. At least I hope the rest of the eve is quiet.

Fully Functional

I just finished fixing the pond. All fish and plants are looking good and there appears to be a good water level. There was a few things that needed correcting. So that they do not plug up again. I Should have been keeping the debris clear, but of course I wasn’t. I still need to create a emergency overflow system so this never happens again or I could leave the pump off when we are not near it. I would rather an over flow system. Also since I put the filter in a pan the filter stays REAL clean so that may have had something to do with it.

Dog Saves Fish

Well it was about 11 PM as I went to bed I contemplated not putting the dog out. I decided that it was for the best if I did, and that is when I noticed it. I opened the back door and heard water gushing from somewhere. :-O I looked at the pond and saw the pump spraying about 5 foot in the air. As i got closer I realized that the pond was almost dry. It only had about two to four inches in the deep end. I feared that the six fish were already dead. I put the dog back in the house and rushed to get some water in the pond. I hooked up the filter on the hose and started filling as soon as I had Susan turn off the pump. As it filled I found a plugged return line, causing the water to backup and flow out on the ground. We started the pump again once we had some water in as to circulate the non chlorinated water with the new water. I was able to count 5 live fish. Only one unaccounted for. Only time will tell if the fish survived both the loss of water ordeal and the chlorinated water from the refill. I will look everything over tomorrow night after work. I-|
