What a day and what an adventure.
So today was the big day, after all the prep and all the different dealerships and all the different quotes, we’d exchange the Honda Civic 2024 for a 2026 Kia Niro.
So, we got up and did our morning stuff and we were ready at 8:30a, so we waited till 9:00a to leave and then we headed to the first dealership which was Kia of round rock.
We were there from 9:30a till a little after 10:00a and could not make a deal happen so we headed to the Kia dealership in Bryan.
Kia of Round Rock called a few minutes later and said they’ve updated the deal so we sat on the shoulder of the road and contemplated it. We considered we may come to an agreement as we negotiated with them and headed to Wells Fargo to work on some financing.
We received the final word back from Kia of Round Rock and told them the deal was no good and we continued on our way to college Bryan Station.
I must say, Kia of Round Rock did an excellent job trying to work with Kia of North Austin, but we had been concerned since Kia of North Austin was terrible for us to work with. Nevertheless they tried everything they could within the limitations of what Kia of North Austin would be charging them to purchase the car.
As long as we were going right past the house we decided to stop in for lunch and to forward the information that they needed to process the paperwork. It was already 1130a when we arrived at the house.
At 1145a we continued on to Bryan. We arrived there just before 1:00p. and everything went smoothly. We talked to Javi and found out that we could just write a check out, and rhen we verified everything and sent it off to finance. Finance was busy with a couple other people so they worked on that and then we were called in. We signed everything and we’re out of there and hit the road before 2:30p. It was more like just over an hour for the transaction. I had about 30 minutes to take care of things, like I forgot a cable in the trade in car, before we could actually leave a lot.
Kia of Bryan was one of the best experiences we have ever had. We were able to identify a car, get a quote including a trade in and they honored it all the way through the sale. No stalling and no additional pressures. Longest wait was actually just waiting for the finance guy availability. Anyway we signed all the paperwork I wrote them on a check and we were on our maryolway.
On that note, our other transaction in 2025 for the Kia Soul was great at Kia of round rock.
Everything was going great. Now we are a couple miles from the house, like 6.8 miles or 10 minutes and the driver’s side back tire blews out. It got leggy and noisy so I turned on my blinker and moved to the right side of the road immediately.
Now frustrated, we had to decide what we were going to do. It’s 4:17p and so close to home we so we decided to call Kia roadside support. I opened pned the app and started the process. At 4:29p they called us and we setup service. We were told we were set and we would receive texts with updates. We waited and at 4:49p we called them again for a status update. We were told everything is in place and we should continue to wait. We waited and called again at 5:06p. We were told everything is in place and we should continue to wait. We called again at 5:19p, this time I was told that it was in the system but not assigned anyone and she would work on assigning it again. I was also told it was a good thing I called or I would have continued sitting there waiting on nothing.
I called roadside assistance again at 5:44p checking on the status and I was told that there was a 90 minute wait. I called again at 5:44p to check on the status and was told there was a 90 minute wait. I called at 6:10p and told there was a 60 minute wait.
Each time I actually told the AI I needed to make a change so I would be forwarded to a live person.
At 6:20p someone stopped and I took a ride from them to go to the last 10 minutes to the house to get the other vehicle. At 6:29 aSusan let me know that the tow truck showed up. At 6:38p the vehicle was finally in transport to the shop.
Not a single text was recieved!
The truck haul it to the shop and Susan and I came home.
Its always an adventure!
