A restless night led to getting up early for the burial and closure. She selected a spot not too far from the back deck. I felt weird and I hurried to big the hole and remove the remains from the freezer. Once buried I put leaves and needles back over the grave then she marked it with 3 stones. It was emotional but over with.
Month: January 2010
Sure went quick
I just cannot believe how fast it took him over, he was just drinking from the pond on Sunday and deteriorated to death in less than seven days. Bean already looked for him, and now she is laying over the spot where he died. It is so sad, you know she has to know. There is the smell of death in the house, and with it raining now and all day tomorrow, and it will be here until Saturday when we can air out the house.
Long Night
It has been peaceful. Mostly sleeping. At 12:15 he had a single hack like gasp and that was basically the last of him. His last breath and heart was between 12:30 and 12:35. Fire Cracker, you were a good cat, sorry to see you dot so soon. He passed at age 11. Goodbye ole friend, Enjoy Truman’s company in eternity. :((
Downhill
After the wife went to work, I finished an install for work. Cracker has not moved much, although he rolls over and moves on the spot. He normally is sleeping, but does wake up from time to time. When he lifts his head it is now shaky, kinda like a person with Parkinson’s. Had him on my lap for awhile and he was content until he appeared to need a drink. I gave him a drink and he gagged. That made him want to be alone again. I put him back on the floor where seems most content. I do not not think he will recover from this. :-< It is such a shame since I think he was our healthiest cat ever.
Crack Update
Not much new. His status is the same. He is still mobile and partially alert. After putting Truman down in July it is just difficult to know when the time is right. I believe it will be this weekend; at the latest Monday morning. This will be another tough weekend!
