Dear Colleagues,

 

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of Steve Gardner. Steve passed unexpectedly Thursday evening. We grieve not only for the loss his family suffers at this time, but also for the loss of our friend, colleague, and an incredibly valued member of our TPWD team. Prior to the eight years Steve spent with Texas Parks and Wildlife, he had worked over twenty-two years at IBM, and spent over a decade before that working for the State Comptroller.

               

Steve’s expertise in agency email environment, Active Directory, and all things Microsoft, stretched nearly as far as his interest in anything automobile related, especially ‘60s and ‘70s muscle cars and loud motorcycles. Steve also enjoyed wood working, gardening and organic landscaping, and was skilled at creating harmonious environments— whether that be in nature, or at work surrounded by his colleagues. We will all miss a tremendous man and individual.
