What a day!
It is dad’s birthday today, he turned 84.
That’s the good part of the say. Lol.
At 930a I prepared to go fill the two 30 gallon tanks in Taylor. The old one with the white cap and two wheels holds diesel fuel and the one with the black cap and four wheels holds gas. I loaded the two wheel tank in the truck and then noticed that the second tank had fuel in it. As I was told the gas tank was empty I of course assumed I forgot to empty the diesel tank. I proceeded to empty the tank in the tractor and it filled it to the top. Great now I have a full tractor tank. I headed in to shower before heading to town. While in the shower I realized that I may have just filled the diesel tractor with gasoline. OH SHIT! Once out of the shower I turned off the fuel line on the tractor, it was now past 1030a.
It was decided that i would verify if I screwed up and if so, would correct the issue today.
Yep, I did fill the diesel tractor with gasoline! Thank goodness it was not ran yet. I now stared correcting my error.
First I drained the tank and then removed the fuel filter. Then I proceeded with filling the tank with water to flush the remaining gas out of the tank. Once the tank was drained I added air to the tank to pressurize out the remaining water in the tank and line, the fuel filter was still off.
I cleaned the fuel filter and plastic cup and reapplied it to the tractor.
The tank is empty and needs to be filled. The diesel and gas mixture is on the fuel pad but is outside the shop. This was completed by 130p. I now am determining if I go get fuel yet today .
