Ron was a man of compassion with a heart ❤ as big as they get. He loved his grandchildren more than they ever knew and tried to see them as often as he could. He worked at the TPWD help desk supporting the employees with many IT issues. His personality and happy disposition was great to cheer up a day and the conversation was never dull. He would never burden you with is problems, but was always there for you even when things in his life were tough.

Rest on peace my friend, you will be missed and remembered by many for the rest of our days!

Ronald Dean Coleman

OCTOBER 24, 1941 – OCTOBER 24, 2020

Ronald Dean Coleman, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Harbor Hospice of Houston. He was born in Raymondville, Texas on October 24, 1941, the son of Hubert C. and Helen O. Coleman. Ronald is a long-term resident of Katy, Texas and a previous resident of Pflugerville, Texas. Following his graduation as Valedictorian from high school in Raymondville, Texas in 1960, where he grew up, he received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Soon after, he served the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge from the Army he spent the majority of his life putting his knowledge and skills to work as an engineer in the gas and oil industry in the Houston area. Continuing his thirst for knowledge, he also studied computer programming in his spare time. Besides his passion for the sciences and technology, Ronald enjoyed keeping up with the latest in politics and the state of the economy and could confidently take the lead in conversations with anyone regarding these matters. A loving brother and friend to many, Ronald’s true love was for people. He was known for his generosity, as well as his huge heart and smile that was accompanied with his never-ending commitment to offering guidance, support and a helping hand to those he loved. In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his siblings, William Coleman, Jean Irick, Peggy Nix, and Vicky Harrington. Left behind to treasure his memory are brother, Howard Coleman of McAllen, Texas, brother, Gary Coleman and his wife Thelma of Raymondville, Texas, sister, Sue Brashear and her husband Thomas of Raymondville, Texas, step-daughter, Courtney Reddington and her husband David and their children Joshua and Lily of Pflugerville, Texas, as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. As were his final wishes, Ronald’s ashes are being scattered over the resting places of his parents, grandparents and brother in Raymondville.
