Monday

Today could have been a Monday!

Before work and before my labs at 8am I already managed to upset the wife.
Then I almost forgot about the labs at 830am and headed over to my office so I had to turn around.
I arrived about 30 minutes early for my labs. I signed in and watched them in process someone that arrived after me. I tried to ignore it and went and sat down. Then they called him before me. This did frustrate me, but I just realized he could have been ontimecas I was early. I continued sitting and waiting realizing three is no benefit of arriving early.
I was called by reception, I figured I must owe money. This was not the case, I was told I needed to go to benifits and sign a form. OK now I’m puzzled, what’s benifits? I go up to the office to realize it ain’t benefits its financial enforcement. They tell me my lab referral ran out and I need to sign promising I will pay the lab bill if it is not covered by the insurance. WTF? What’s a lab referral? I immediately call Austin Regional Clinic [ARC] to see what this weird referral is. Phone tree and hold. I apologize that I am calling to the benefits lady and then while holding to be helped in order that we called I was disconnected. Bam, pissed to a redline! I recall and again go through the phone tree and get put in hold for my place to be helped in the order we called. I sign the form and go back to my lab appointment.

I poke my head in to see if they called while upstairs There are no customers in the room just 2 workers who draw blood. They reply with nope, but they allow me in as it is now a few minutes past my scheduled lab appointment time. I am still on the phone on hold! My blood is drawn and I head out the lab room. I am still on the phone on hold!

I hop in the car an drive a few blocks to the ARC I use. I am still on the phone on hold! I go in and ask tovtalk to referrals and am told its not there it is centralized meaning its all handeled somewhere else. I am still on the phone on hold! She attempts to help by asking another person and the phone person answers. I thank the person behind the desk and walk to a little more private area.

Its been about 45 minutes on hold and I’m very frustrated. I stress my frustration to the lady on the phone and unfortunately cut her of as I complain. She get my info and asks to put me on hold. I agree and head out to my car. I get to the parking lot exit and there is a car afraid to push into traffic. I wait and wait contemplating to back up and go to another exit. I am still on the phone on hold! Wow the car finally moves. I move into traffic and the lady comes back on the line.

She apologizes for both waits I endured and tells me that Dr Casteel’s referral ran out and every was resubmitted yesterday. She said there shoulb be no issues.

I continue back to work only to be inundated with my work and other new added tasks.
The rest of the day was stressful do to the issues in the morning.

Again another tough week finally over.
