Wendy

Happy Birthday to my cousin Wendy. She would have been 48 today if she was not taken from us when she was young. I still recall the pain felt on the day of her funeral. How much I cried and the magnitude of the loss. I am amazed at how these life events affect us.

The funeral was at country cemetery. I remember we headed back to the farm afterward. Where there was a celebration of her life. Lots of pain and happiness of the memories left behind were showed that day.

I recall going back the cemetery after I was released from the military. I placed a handmade card with a poem and two roses, one red for the love she brought and one white for her innocence.

One of the special thing about her was she couldn’t live at home. She lived in a hospital most of her life, due to spina bifida. Back in the 70s the tech was not available for aid in helping with this defect. Her had surgeries and back braces, leg braces along with other challenges. With all of this she was still one of the happiest, smiling and giggly people I have ever known.

Thank you for being part of my life. You are one of my life drivers. Your short interaction in my life has giving the strength, hope and courage.

I love and miss you. 🤗👫
